Books Aren't Dead. (They're Just Going Digital) -Newsweek

Communication and technology combined together created a huge impact in the world of schooling and learning. Who can say technology is a waste of money when a lot of students depend their daily source of information to it? Internet, cyber encyclopedias and the like are just few of what communication technology has to offer when it comes to educating minds.

But see, it's not all about the role or application of communication technology in education. Each aspect of our society whether political, economic or whatever is linked to one another. The role of each one of it depends on the role of another one. A domino effect might happen if one failed to reach the technology times.

My point is, for instance... There's a great technology difference in education depending on the economic status of a nation. The economic status is obviously linked to the political aspect. And if this two were on the downside, the development of communication technology in culture will also be as slow as it was before. Without knowing the role of technology in education, how can a nation produce a well-educated and exceptional students? These students are badly needed in order for the economic, political and cultural aspects of a nation to go further and develop.

So basically, communication technology in education is not just about the help of computers and the internet to the students. A good role and application of communication technology should be observed in every need of a nation: education, economic, politics, culture etc.

So maybe i kinda lost the point... I could tell a more harmless role of technology in the development of education. Think of any subject or course you've taken that didn't use technology? None right? See, computers are now integrated to every curriculum we take in school. Whether it is art, science, literature, engineering... We already use technology as a mean to survive and pass those subjects.

Reality check: Communication technology in education, as important as the water we drink everyday, is now stapled in our future. All jobs in the future will probably involved computing and access to it. That is the role and application of communication technology in development when it comes to education.
